The six-day Second CIIE ended in Shanghai on Sunday. According to data from the CIIE Statistics Bureau, the intentional transaction volume exceeded US $ 71.13 billion, an increase of 23% over the first expo.
The second CIIE attracted more than 3,800 companies from all over the world, with a total exhibition area of more than 360,000 square meters. By noon on November 10, the exhibition had received more than 910,000 visitors.
The number of registered professional visitors to the second CIIE exceeded 500,000, of which more than 7,000 were overseas buyers. Up to 32% of professional audiences specialize in manufacturing, while another 25% are from the wholesale and retail industries.
At the three-day CIIE supply and demand matchmaking meeting this year, as many as 1,367 exhibitors and 3258 buyers from 103 countries and regions reached a total of 2160 purchase intention agreements.
Preliminary statistics show that there are at least 391 new products, technologies or service items released for the first time in mainland China or the world through CIIE this year, which is much higher than the number in the first year. Sun also said in a press conference on Sunday that more than 230 companies have signed next year’s expo, and the exhibition area is expected to exceed 84,000 square meters. He said that more than 80 applicants for the third CIIE were Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders with planned exhibition areas of more than 50,000 square meters.
