Beijing – 2019 China Service Trade Fair will open in Beijing on May 28th, which will inject new vitality into the development of the world economy.

“The Expo will enhance the level of global service trade development,” Wang Bingnan, Vice Minister of Commerce, said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Wang Hong, deputy mayor of Beijing, said that there are 130 countries and regions, and 21 international organizations have been confirmed to participate in the event.

Of these delegations, 98 were from the “Belt and Road” initiative partner countries. A series of themed events will be held during the China Service Trade Fair, including the Service Trade Cooperation Forum.

The China Service Trade Fair will be held from May 28th to June 1st with an exhibition area of 150,000 square meters. Thailand will be a guest of the show.

China’s service trade continued to maintain a stable and healthy development. In the first quarter of 2019, total trade in services increased by 2.6% to 1.29 trillion yuan (US$191 billion).

In the first quarter, service trade accounted for 15.6% of the country’s total foreign trade, which was 1 percentage point higher than the full year of 2018.
